Testimonial from Ed Connor

Here are some pics I took of the billet shovel head clamps. I installed these on a shovelhead that I gave to Johny Bo. The engine is 93" with new STD head castings and the intake is an S&S.

These clamps sealed incredibly well. I even made a fixture to measure manifold leak down and did a side by side comparison (sort of) with a buddies bike using a set of standard aircraft clamps. The intake with your billet clamps held 100# of air/ 0% leak down. In comparison, my buddies bike which had no detectable intake leaks showed around 15-18% leak down. Tests were conducted with a block off plate made from 1/2" thick aluminum with a groove machined for a standard Super E sized O-ring. The plate was drilled and tapped for 1/4" NPT thread and fitted with a female air hose fitting. I used a standard, dual gauge engine leak down test fixture.

Will also add that the parts fit very well and provided an enormous amount of rigidity to the weak shovel head carb mounting setup. If I were to do another top end on a shovel head I would definitely use they clamps. As far as I am concerned, having these clamps on a shovel head is a must. I cannot image going back to the old aircraft band clamps.
